• Sous vide is a method of cooking that only used to be available in restaurants.  Rather than heating a piece of meat at high temperatures, causing it to lose flavor and become tough, a sous vide cooks meat at lower temperatures for longer periods of time. This cooking method seals the juices in for an amazingly tender and flavorful piece of meat. The Nomiku WiFi Sous Vide allows you to cook at the same precise temperature chefs do in the comfort of your own home and with the convenience of your phone. We use it for all of our dry ages steaks and even some of our sausages!

How does it work?  You’ll need five things: water, a steak, a vacuum sealer (or a heavy duty Ziploc), a sous vide, and a large pot or bucket.  Start by filling your pot with water.  Place the steak inside the bag vacuum seal it (or not if you have a Ziploc – use the bucket of water to push the remaining air out of the Ziploc), sealing it with as little air as possible. Put the sous vide into the water, and plug it in.  Personally, I like my steaks medium rare, so I set the sous vide for 133°F and cook it for about 2 hours.  Edge to edge, the Nomiku WiFi Sous vide Immersion Circulator cooks a perfect medium rare steak every single time.  After the steak is done I will sear it in a really hot cast iron skillet or grill.

The Nomiku WiFi Sous Vide is very mobile and easy to use.  It comes with a clip, allowing it to be attached to whatever pot or bucket you have on hand.  Additionally, there is an app called EatTender which has thousands of sous vides recipes.  Whether you have an Android or an iPhone, you can send a recipe straight to your sous vide from your couch.  What could be simpler than a press of a button?

If you love the idea of cooking juicy, tender steaks at home, consider buying a Nomiku WiFi Sous Vide Immersion Circulator.  Nothing is easier than setting up a sous vide and then walking away to let it do all the work for you.
